| I started researching different
ways to make small run plastic playsets in 1990. My goal was to produce
all new plastic playsets. After
being rejected by over 30 plastics companies, I finally found some small
Midwest manufacturers who were willing to work with me on this project.
Our first product, the Roger's
Rangers playset, debuted in August of 1993 as the first all new American-produced
playset in over 25 years. We followed that with the Battle of New Orleans
in 1994, the Mike Fink Playset in 1995, and the Davy Crockett Wilderness
Set in 1996.
In 1997, under license from
20th Century Fox, we came out with our Last of the Mohicans Playset
based upon the popular movie of that name. These sets came with an authentic
autographed photo of Wes Studi as Magua.
The Ranger Camp Playset was
introduced in the fall of 1998.
In 1999, we debuted our most
ambitious project to date, the Treasure Island Playset.
We followed that up in the
year 2000 with the huge Treasure Island Pirate Ship.
In 2001 we introduced
our Civil War Camp Playset in both Union and Confederate versions.
Our tenth all new playset, and the biggest and most extensive to date,
The Battle of Churubusco (War with Mexico) was released in the fall of
2002.
This was followed up in the fall of 2003 with the Conquistadors and Aztecs
Playsets. Again, will all new figures and buildings including Spanish
Conquistadors, Aztecs, character figures of Cortez and Montezuma, pyramids
and a temple.
2004 saw the release of yet another historically accurate and exciting
playset: Braddock’s Defeat. Set in the French and Indian War, a
young George Washington and the doomed General Braddock fight off the
French Militia and their Indian allies, the Shawnee.
2005 was our most ambitious year to date, releasing not one, but two new
playsets: The spectacular Stone Fort (Fort Ticonderoga style) and The
Lewis and Clark Expedition Playset, complete with an all new keel boat,
a wilderness fort, Blackfeet Indians, explorers, character figures, a
buffalo herd and much more.
2006 we again released two new playsets: The Pirate Fortress and The Shores
of Tripoli complete with 1805 U.S. Marines, a character figure of Lt.
Pressley O'Bannon, Barbary pirates and new N. African town bulidings,
shore batteries and middle eastern accessories.
In the spring of 2007 we debuted the Fortified Hacienda with new adobe
hacienda and resculpted adobe walls. Along with the previously released
adobe corner towers - this created a complete, enclosed fortress. In the
fall of 2007 2 more new playsets were released: Nottingham castle and
the exciting, Tales of Robin Hood, complete with injection molded plastic
Merrymen and Sheriff's men. Also included are low walls, Locksley Manorhouse,
4 character figures and many new accessories evocative of the medieval
setting.
As of November 2007,
Tales of Robin Hood and The Road To Stalingrad are all still available.
All previously released playsets have been sold out. Occasionally, these
sold out sets appear on dealer lists and eBay.
